Terms of Service

These terms cover the API applications and OAuth clients registered under sillylogger with third-party services such as Google and Oura (the “Apps”), which are managed by Tommy Sullivan. The Apps exist so that personal software run by sillylogger can connect to those services for keeping track of sillylogger’s own work, life, and health. By authorizing an App, you agree to what follows. If you do not agree, do not authorize it.

What the Apps are

The Apps are personal API registrations, provided free of charge as a personal undertaking rather than a commercial product. They carry no service level, no uptime commitment, and no promise of support, maintenance, or continued availability. They may be reconfigured, restricted, or withdrawn at any time and without notice.

The software that authenticates through the Apps is separate, governed by its own licences and terms. Nothing here is a warranty about that software, and these terms do not grant you any right in it.

Your accounts

Authorization happens on each service’s own consent screen, and the access granted is yours to give. You are responsible for the accounts you connect and for everything done under your authorization. Your use of those services remains subject to their own terms, including Google’s Terms of Service and Oura’s Terms of Service.

You may revoke access at any time from the service’s own account settings.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Apps’ credentials to:

• access data you are not authorized to access, or any account that is not yours to operate;
• send unsolicited bulk email, spam, or other messaging that violates a service’s policies or applicable law;
• break any law, regulation, or third-party right, including privacy and intellectual property rights;
• circumvent, overload, or interfere with any service’s APIs, rate limits, or infrastructure;
• resell, rebrand, or offer access through the Apps to others as a service.

The access granted can change real data

Some scopes permit creating, modifying, sending, and deleting data in your accounts, and an operation does exactly what it is told to do. There is no undo. You are responsible for knowing what an operation will do before you run it, and for keeping your own backups of anything you cannot afford to lose.

Not medical advice

Health and wellness data accessed through the Apps, including Oura ring data, is used for personal tracking only. Nothing produced from it is medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and it is no substitute for a qualified professional.

No warranty

The Apps are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. There is no guarantee that they will be available, that any software using them will behave correctly, or that any particular result will be achieved.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Tommy Sullivan is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, nor for any loss of data, revenue, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or connected to your use of the Apps or of any software that authenticates through them. This applies whether the claim is based in contract, tort, or any other theory, and whether or not the possibility of such damage was known.

Termination

You may stop at any time by revoking access. Access may be withdrawn, and any App discontinued, at any time and for any reason.

Changes

These terms may be updated as the Apps change. Any revision is published on this page with a new date at the top, and continuing to use the Apps after that means you accept the revision.
